 Mad Doc is pleased to announce Dr. Davis’ appointment to Northwestern
University’s McCormick School of Electrical Engineering and Computer
Science Advisory Board. With a background rich in academia (Dr. Davis
earned his doctorate completing his thesis on AI and autonomous
navigation at Carnegie Mellon University), he has taught at CMU and
recently completed his Fall 2005 Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Topics in Comparative Media Studies Class: “Characters in Video Games.”
Dr. Davis has long been a proponent of the research, commercial,
academic and game development communities converging and looks forward
to contributing to Northwestern’s success. For more information on the

Davis, former Technical Director at Activision Studios, is widely
acknowledged as one of the top artificial intelligence experts in the
video game industry. Davis is a trusted advisor to some of the most
important publishers in the industry and is active in the gaming
community, serving as a Peer Panel Leader for the Academy of
Interactive Arts and Sciences Peer Panel for Gameplay Engineering.
Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Game Development, he is a highly
sought speaker who presents in academic and game-focused venues, and
has been interviewed for online, print and television media.  |
